GreenSpeed 2 was AERO’s second generation hybrid racecar. At Formula Hybrid 2010, GS2 completed 6 laps of endurance, ran the acceleration event in 4.87 seconds, and placed 8th out of 19 cars overall. The all wheel drive system was carried over from GS1, but now included one of the most ambitious and complicated custom built parts AERO has ever created: a custom transaxle containing the electric motor, engine, transmission, & center/rear limited-slip differentials in one assembly, with a prop shaft running to the forward limited-slip differential. GS2 also used inboard brakes to decrease unsprung mass.
